Recent malfunctions in the sewers of Eleanor City have caused several sewage workers to die at the hands of a strange creature when trying to fix them. So the Lovely Angels are sent to solve the case, much to the dismay of the officials in charge, particularly the management chief who distrusts the Angels.
The girls explore the sewers only to find a missing worker, they are soon attacked by the sewage dwelling monster but Kei blows it away with her weapon.
They retreat to their headquarters, Yuri takes a shower and Kei upgrades her weaponry. It is believed that the case has been solved with the death of the creature but Kei has another theory. Since the creature the workers retrieved still has a head, it couldn't be the one she blasted earlier, leading her to theorize that there´s more than one enemy to take care of.
According to a local scientist, the beast was a mollusk from the Lovecraft System (get it?). So the Lovely Angels decide to take care of the problem, hatching a plan to get rid of the invading beasts.
They set the sewage on fire to get the animals to come out and then use the waves from a speaker to lure them into an acid bath they prepared. Things turn bad when a gigantic acid-spitting mammoth rises from the hazardous waters, attacking the girls and their crew. Kei burns it with her flamethrower and it flees in pain.
Turns out the small pests were just food for the gigantic beast, forcing the Dirty Pair to find a way to locate the monster before it eats more humans. During their investigation they find out that the mollusks were smuggled into the planet as exotic pets, and that the bigger one is a mutation.

The new plan involves luring the creature into a trap with brightness after turning off the sewage lights. However, dropping liquid nitrogen on the fiend does not work at first.
They try it again with a much larger water quantity and now the monster becomes completely enveloped with the chemical. This state allows Kei to launch a grenade and blow up the monster.
The Angels being the Angels crash on their way back to the surface and begin to fight. Mughi shows up after hiding the whole episode. What a cowardly big boy.
Exciting and well developed episode that executes it´s creature feature premise to the best abilities of the animators and artists. The writing and the actual story isn't about personal conflicts or about thematic exploration but rather about action and inventive plot development kept alive by the protagonists personalities, a simple idea that actually plays to the biggest strengths of the show, which are it´s epic scale, character writing and solidly constructed battle sequences.
Probably top 15 material.
